Week 11: Our Last (Home) Stand 2018

Front Row (kneeling): Michael Maul, Blake Frampton, Zach Oretsky, Parker Cormack. Back Row (standing): Brendan Meyer, Joey Pecoraro, Sam Neely, Michael Davis. Not Pictured: Kevin Flores

The good news is we survived the week! Seven games in seven days and we went 5-2. It's all good, although the games we lost were one run heartbreakers! In the two games we lost, we left 32 runners on bases. (Ouch!)

The gooder news is that the national polls still have us at No. 1, and that's without me getting a vote so you know it's real. Also, our boys are getting a break: our next game will be Saturday.  All of this success means that we are still looking to raise funds to defray costs for our team. There are more details here. Please participate if you can and look for our launch of a website in the coming weeks.

The bestest news is that we are home for the last set of home games this year. Most of all, you need to be there Sunday at 12:30, for a special occasion as we honor our Seniors

Parker Cormack Michael Davis Kevin Flores Blake Frampton Michael Maul Brendan Meyer Joey Pecoraro Zach Oretsky Sam Neely

and their families on the field. Yeah, Frampton already had a bit of a homecoming already, but this one is for everyone. Some of these guys have been injured, and for each of them we hope for a speedy recovery!

(I bet some of you thought there might be some bad news here. Shame on you! We don't flow like that.) And now, some additional details:

1. Here is the schedule for the week:

Saturday, April 21st  1:00 pm Home v. Dallas.

Saturday, April 21st  4:00 pm Home v. Dallas.

Sunday, April 22nd  1:00 pm Home v. Dallas (*Senior Day program at 12:30*).

As always, keep in mind that you can keep all the games on your calendar by using this link. All the games will be at the Trinity Baseball Field... do I really need to give you a link for that address?

2. Here are the summaries from last week's games:

Trinity 3, Concordia 2 (11 innings) --  Nix delivers again. Trinity 14, Sul Ross 5 -- Wisniewski sees doubles. Trinity 10, Sul Ross 2 -- More Meyer is good Meyer. Trinity 16, Schreiner 6  --  Goody delivers twice. Trinity 8, Schreiner 4  --  Five triples are more than three times the fun. Schreiner 3, Trinity 2 (10 innings)  --  Sometimes, Frampton is not enough. Southwestern 8, Trinity 7  --  15 stranded baserunners can't be wrong....

(Yes, I know I sent some of these summaries out before... just wanted to focus on the good parts...)

3. Will the games be streamed? They are at Trinity, so duh. The Trinity Network is awesome! And the games can be found here.

4. With the wins last week, Trinity has clinched a spot in the SCAC Baseball Championship this year.  From this article, the games will be at the Depot at Cleburne Station in Cleburne, Texas on May 4-6, 2018. Obviously, more details to follow. And don't forget about this.

See you at the fields, Trinity University Fast Bat, Inc.
