Red-hot Trinity highly ranked in national Top 25

The Tigers have had two 10 game winning streaks this year and stand at 28-3 overall. Head Coach Tim Scannell's squad is 10-2 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference standings, and has already clinched a spot in the SCAC championship.

The boys and coaches are on a roll, working hard to compete at the Conference, Regional and National Levels.

This is a road Trinity has seen before. Last time the boys made it to Appleton, Trinity claimed the top spot after winning the 2016 NCAA Division III Championship. A nine-victory run in the NCAA Playoffs that year resulted in the Tigers being crowned National Champions.

In 2016, it cost $40,000 beyond the budget to get to regionals and nationals.  Those additional expenditures were money well spent:

35 players traveled -- as opposed to the 22 players the NCAA would cover. That 50% increase in team size impacted everything from flights to food. But it also meant we had the relievers we needed and others we needed to bring home the trophy.

“Every hitter in our lineup is doing their job and contributing and it all starts with the leadership of those guys,”

 --Rafe Chaumette, Sophomore outfielder.

In addition, the NCAA does not cover everything ... things like ground transport are excluded. In the end, these additional necessary expenses added $1,000/day for the team over our budget.

We established FastBat as a 501(c)(3) for exactly this: to support the program, facilities, and improvements and to aid in the fundraising for Trinity University Baseball program.  Our tax status makes donations tax deductible.

AND NOW, WE NEED HELP TO OVERCOME THE ANTICIPATED SHORTFALL.

Our goal is to raise $50,000 so that we can (1) cover these expenses, (2) grow the discretionary funds for future years, and (3) cover shortfalls incurred in prior years where we went deep into the playoffs.

The Tigers' 28-3 record is historic and we want to make sure that we are not caught short with an unexpected playoff run to Washington and Wisconsin, so we need your help! If you are receiving this email, you know that baseball is ultimately a game of inches, and we want to make sure that our boys are as ready as possible for what lies ahead.
